Teaching Philosophy
I believe that educators and children learn from each other. Educators must support children in their learning, by providing engaging learning experiences to support each student's learning style. When educators and children are able to collaborate in the learning experience, it is beneficial for everyone. Another crucial component of the learning experience is familial involvement. When a child's family is involved in learning, the learning process is best for everyone.

Another large component that I bring to teaching is literacy in the classroom. Books and reading have been one of my passions since I was young, so it is something that I want to share with all of my students. I think reading to a child is one of the most wonderful experiences.

Something that is a more recent addition to my teaching philosophy is a child's involvement with nature and their environment. This is something I was fortunate enough to experience as a child, but now fully understand the importance of. Interaction with the natural world can help us become more compassionate and caring beings, and connection to place can help ground us and provide us with a way to show respect.
